Cato Networks, a leading provider of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions, has announced the addition of Transport Layer Security (TLS) inspection capabilities to its SASE platform. TLS inspection is a critical security measure that enables organizations to inspect TLS traffic flows, which are used to encrypt communication between devices and servers. However, many organizations currently do not inspect TLS traffic, leaving their networks vulnerable to malicious attacks.
Cato’s new Safe TLS Inspection feature is designed to simplify the process of TLS inspection, making it easier for organizations to detect and block malicious traffic hidden within encrypted channels. The feature can automatically identify applications and domains safe for inspection, eliminating the need for bypass lists and providing visibility into cloud traffic.
According to Cato’s Q3 Cato CTRL SASE threat report, only 45% of its 2,500 customers currently inspect TLS traffic flows, and only 3% report inspecting all relevant sessions. This lack of TLS inspection is a significant risk to end users and data, as it allows malicious traffic to go undetected and unchecked.
