Key Points:

Seamless PC connection: Connect your Meta Quest headsets to your Windows 11 PC in seconds, allowing for unparalleled productivity.
Windows 365 Cloud PC access: Access your personalized Windows desktop, apps, and settings on your Meta Quest device, streamed from the Microsoft Cloud.
Enhanced productivity: Experience immersive and private productivity, with flexible and secure access to your Windows PC, Virtual Desktop, and more on the go.

In a major breakthrough, Microsoft has announced that the full capabilities of Windows 11 can now be enjoyed on mixed reality headsets, starting with Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S. This partnership with Meta will allow users to access their Windows 11 PC or Windows 365 Cloud PC from their Quest headset, making it easier to stay productive while on-the-go.

According to Microsoft, connecting your Quest to your local PC for the first time is simple and secure. Press the "Windows + Y" combination on your keyboard, scan the QR code that appears, and you’re ready to experience unparalleled productivity with Windows 11. Reconnecting is just as easy, with a simple tap of the "connect" button over your PC’s keyboard.

The partnership also brings Windows App to Meta Quest devices, allowing users to connect directly to their Windows 365 Cloud PC and access their personalized Windows desktop, apps, and settings streamed from the Microsoft Cloud. This means that users can access their virtual desktop, Azure Virtual Desktop, Microsoft Dev Box, and more from their Quest headset, making it easier to stay productive on the go.

But what does this mean for productivity? According to Microsoft, the Meta Quest headsets can now become an extension of your Windows PC, allowing you to access multiple high-resolution virtual monitors for increased productivity. With the option to block out distractions and immerse yourself in virtual workspaces, or stay connected to the physical world around you, users can get more done on multiple large screens visible only to them, even in busy spaces.

As BetaNews will be reporting, the v72 software update for Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S, which brings this experimental feature, is rolling out gradually, so don’t worry if you don’t see it today – it’ll come your way soon. We’re excited to see how this partnership between Microsoft and Meta will shape the future of work and productivity.
