Cisco, a leading networking and technology company, has furthered its commitment to supporting and developing artificial intelligence (AI) systems by unveiling new certification and training courses aimed at teaching professionals the skills needed to work with AI. According to Par Merat, Vice President of Cisco Learning and Certifications, AI has the potential to "tremendous" benefits but can also exacerbate the digital divide if not approached intentionally. To address this, Cisco has created a three-part AI training roadmap that aims to enable skills-based AI readiness.
The Introduction to Modern AI course is available at NetAcad.com and provides an introduction to AI concepts and how to incorporate them into daily life. Additionally, Cisco has created a AI Skills in Professional Roles learning path for engineers and architects to learn how to implement AI solutions on Cisco infrastructure. Furthermore, the company is updating its existing learning materials in the data center and security certification tracks to incorporate AI-related information.
AI Infrastructure learning path covers the entire AI learning continuum, from entry-level to expert. Professionals completing this program will gain the AI infrastructure skills needed to advance their careers and benefit their organizations. AI Solutions on Cisco Infrastructure Essentials (DCAIE) will run from February 7 through March 24, covering topics such as AI basics, AI infrastructure requirements, and AI data considerations.
Cisco’s new data center switch family, the N9300 series, was also unveiled. This new line of switches aims to help customers more securely support large workloads and facilitate AI development across the enterprise.
Recent research by Cisco highlights the growing importance of AI in business, with 61% of CEOs recognizing the need to improve AI education to address concerns about knowledge gaps and skill shortages. This new training roadmap and certification process will help ensure that professionals are equipped to develop and implement AI systems that meet the needs of businesses and support a more inclusive future.
