Hello Windows Insiders, we have a new update for you! Today, we’re releasing Windows 11 Build 22631.5116 (KB5053657) to Insiders in the Release Preview Channel on Windows 11, version 23H2 (Build 22631).
The update includes a range of new features and improvements, which we’ll be rolling out gradually. Here’s a summary of what’s new:
Gradual Rollout:
- File Explorer: Increased support for text scaling (Settings > Accessibility > Text size) across File Explorer, File Open/Save dialogs, and copy dialogs.
- Settings: New features for commercial customers on PCs managed by an IT administrator, including a new Settings homepage and top cards with device information and accessibility preferences.
- Context menu labels: We’re rolling back this feature due to some issues.
- Input: New Gamepad keyboard layout for the touch keyboard, which includes button accelerators for better controller navigation and typing.
- Voice access: New support for Chinese, including Simplified Chinese (zh-cn) and Traditional Chinese (zh-tw).
Normal Rollout:
- File Systems (Filters): New function in Filter Manager that enhances system ability to notify applications of directory changes while minimizing I/O operations.
- Noto Fonts: New font family for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean languages, providing modern and comprehensive font support.
- Remote Desktop: Fixed issue with troubleshooters running on remote desktop sessions.
- COSA: Updated issue affecting mobile connectivity configurations for Connected PCs.
- Printers: Fixed issue with IHV drivers causing incorrect or unwanted text output.
- File System: Fixed issue with system crashes for users with redirected profiles on a network VHD.
- File System Filter: Fixed issue causing stop errors during normal usage.
- Deprecation: Suggested actions for copying phone numbers or future dates are being removed.
- Web search providers: Improved support for EEA (European Economic Area) users with Windows Search.
