Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella emphasized the company’s focus on innovation across its tech stack and its efforts to help customers unlock the full return on investment (ROI) of artificial intelligence (AI). The company’s AI business has already surpassed an annual revenue run rate of $13 billion, up 175% year-over-year.

The company’s Productivity and Business Processes segment saw a 14% increase in revenue, driven by a 15% growth in Microsoft 365 Commercial products and cloud services revenue. The Intelligent Cloud segment saw a 19% increase in revenue, driven by a 21% growth in Server products and cloud services revenue.

Microsoft also returned $9.7 billion to shareholders in the form of dividends and share repurchases during the quarter. The company will provide guidance for its fiscal year 2025 during its earnings call later today.

Redmond, Wash. — January 29, 2025 — Microsoft Corp. today announced the following results for the quarter ended December 31, 2024, as compared to the corresponding period of last fiscal year:

Revenue: $69.6 billion and increased 12%
Operating Income: $31.7 billion and increased 17% (up 16% in constant currency)
Net Income: $24.1 billion and increased 10%
Diluted Earnings per Share: $3.23 and increased 10%
