Now that we’ve gotten the downloading introductions out of the way, let’s dive deep into this trending game that has been well received according to Steam players who have rated and reviewed the game. Also, at the original time of posting this, the game was in early access so I will update this post from time to time when the game is released which should be very soon, I have yet to confirm the official release date but once I do, I will update this part of the blog post and even BOLD it for you guys to see. With that said, let’s get back to what I was saying, the game is much better than I thought, the graphics are not all that at all, you can even tell by the screenshots and gameplay trailer I have added if once you scroll down a bit but that’s fine because it is a simulation game that focuses on guess what…drum roll, please? The SIMULATION.he game starts you off as a small-town owner/manager as you manage a retail shop with the hope of growing it to becoming the largest retail chain in the entire city/country.
What I liked is the ability to build your supermarket from the ground up, deciding on everything from the layout and design to the products you stock and the way you manage your staff. Some of the staff members are lazy, some are slow, just like a real target or a walmart(lol?) but that is what keeps you wanting to see what else you will find as you play and remember, you do have some crazy stuff too like you have to give the right change to your customers, accept credit card payments, increase prices if you want to be a capitalist who**. Check the animated gif below to see what I mean in regards to playing as a cashier.
It’s like playing another game that we actually might feature later on this website, King of Retail, another retail game that is well liked and a lot of you will probably love.
How is the gameplay like?
Playing Supermarket Simulator feels like it’s like stepping into the shoes of a rich, perhaps even wealthy millionaire chainstore owner, in the making, meaning you are not quiet there yet but you are getting there. You’re not just running a store though, you’re crafting a shopper’s paradise from the ground up. This game lets you get down to the nitty-gritty of supermarket management, from the strategic layout of aisles for optimal flow(rob your consumers or manipulate them to buy what you want? What’s the difference?) to the satisfaction of scanning items at checkout. It’s a game where your choices directly impact your success, balancing the scales between customer happiness and your bottom line.
Want to expand your empire? Reinvest those profits and watch as your modest corner shop blooms into a retail powerhouse. With an eye on the market and a hand on the till, Supermarket Simulator offers a blend of strategy, simulation, and that sweet, sweet capitalism we all guiltily love. It’s about turning every day into payday, and learning that in the world of retail, every little decision can lead to big success or aisle five disasters.
What tips or strategies work best for me?
I am STILL playing this game but so far, after googling and trying some things, below are some of the best Supermarket Simulator tips that worked for me and I am about 65% sure they will work for you too, lol good luck and trust me, as the game develops and grows, it will become more complex, I almost felt like I should have taken a management course at some community college(I went to a community college, Lansing Michigan community college by the way and I loved it!!)
- Start small, grow big: Focus on essential, fast-selling items like bread, milk, and eggs initially. Expand your selection as profits allow.
- Data is your friend: Use daily summaries to identify popular products and adjust inventory accordingly.
- Price competitively: Start slightly below market price to attract customers. Experiment with slight markups as you establish yourself.
- Restock efficiently: Keep a well-stocked storage room and grab multiple items when restocking shelves.
- Location, location, location: Place high-demand items at eye level for easy customer access.
- Bulk is your budget buddy: Buy products in bulk to save on delivery fees, but manage storage space.
- Happy customers, happy wallet: Maintain a clean, organized store and address customer needs promptly.
Pros:
- Hands-on supermarket management: Experience the satisfaction of building and running your own supermarket, making decisions on everything from inventory to staffing.
- Relaxing and meditative gameplay: Enjoy the calming tasks of stocking shelves, managing inventory, and creating a visually appealing store.
- Business simulation aspects: Develop your strategic thinking skills through product pricing, market fluctuations, and staff management.
- High level of detail: Immerse yourself in the world of supermarket operations with a variety of products, store customization options, and customer interactions.
Cons:
- Potentially repetitive tasks: Stocking shelves and ringing up customers can become repetitive after extended playtime.
- Limited scope: The game focuses on the day-to-day operations and may lack the complexity some players desire.
- AI limitations: Customer and staff AI might not be as sophisticated as players would expect for a simulation game, especially with the rise Ai “thinking”.
Supermarket Simulator Mods
Oh let me NOT forget, if you are like me, a gamer who just loves mods and the main reason why I am now mostly gaming on my PC instead of my PS5 or PlayStation, I have good news for you, I found a place where you can get tons of mods for this game: Nexus Mods you can get mods like the popular RDC Stock Manager or a mod that can let you run the game in the background of your computer as you are doing something else. I highly recommend you should probably try the RDC Stock Manager, it is the most popular mod for the game for a reason, it lets you know how much stock you have left of something so that you can try your best to never runout.

* If you want a full review of this game, I would recommend you check out this YouTube video by one of my favorite game review channel right now by some guys known as SimplyAmazing. They get straight to the point and the good stuff. Of course I don’t really agree with him when he said the graphics are nice, I mean they are not bad and I do get it, it is a simulation but I think in the future versions, the graphics of the NPCs and the town will improve, I just feel like once they get more money etc, they will have to focus on the graphics side of the game as well. He also talks about how he liked the interactions with the staff and customers you hire which I also did enjoy, the game can keep you busy for hours on hours so get ready and get all your farts out the way.
