Hello Windows Insiders, this is Amanda & Brandon bringing you the latest news from the world of Windows. Today, we are excited to announce that a new Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27764 has been released to the Canary Channel. This build introduces a range of changes and improvements to make your Windows experience even better.
Start menu updates: When you right-click on apps pinned to the Start menu, you’ll now see jump lists for apps that have them, such as PowerPoint.
Dynamic Lighting: The Dynamic Lighting settings page will now display a placeholder message when no compatible devices are attached, and Brightness and Effects controls will be disabled.
Input: We’re starting to roll out a change that hides the IME toolbar when apps are in full-screen mode for those with the IME toolbar enabled and typing in Chinese or Japanese.
Narrator: We’ve added new functionalities to Narrator scan mode, including the ability to skip past links and jump to lists. To try these new features, enable Narrator first and then turn on scan mode using Caps Lock + Spacebar.
Speech in Windows: We’ve improved speech-to-text and text-to-speech experiences on Windows. Users of Narrator, Voice Access, Live Captions, Live Translations, and Voice Typing may receive a message asking them to update their language files manually.
In addition to these changes, we’ve fixed several issues, including:
- An issue causing some Insiders to see a bugcheck with error PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA while using their PC starting with Build 27754.
- An issue where File Explorer might hang when browsing a folder with lots of media in it.
- An issue where the Taskbar and System Tray might overlap on secondary monitors.
- An issue where the mouse cursor might become invisible with a black box behind it.
As always, some features may still be in development and may not be fully localized. If you encounter issues with localization in your language, please report them to us via Feedback Hub.
