Perhaps you are like me and you tend to follow instructions better when you watch videos lol! – Quick warning, the guy in the video has an accent that some of you might find hard to understand, luckily you don’t have to understand what he is doing, just follow where his mouse is.
Find your Wifi Password using Command Prompt
Sometimes it is actually faster just to type some commands in CMD prompt and get the job done right away. I know my Linux users support this, I am right? 😉
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator
- Right-click on the Start button or press the Windows Key + X and click ‘Run’ and type ‘CMD’ and press enter.
- Select “Windows Terminal (Admin)” from the list. This opens the terminal with administrative privileges. If you’re using an older version of Windows 11, you might see “Command Prompt (Admin)” or “Windows PowerShell (Admin)” instead.
- Check Network Profiles
- Type the following command and press Enter:
-
netsh wlan show profiles
- This command will list all the wireless network profiles stored on your PC. Find the name of the network whose password you want to view.
- Retrieve the WiFi Password
- Type the following command, replacing “NETWORK_NAME” with the name of your Wifi network:
- netsh wlan show profile name=”NETWORK_NAME” key=clear
- Look for the “Key Content” field in the results. This field displays the Wifi password.
- netsh wlan show profile name=”NETWORK_NAME” key=clear
- Type the following command, replacing “NETWORK_NAME” with the name of your Wifi network:
