Key Points:

  • Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26120.2705 (KB5050636) is released to the Dev Channel.
  • Real-time translation is being rolled out for AMD and Intel-powered Copilot+ PCs, allowing users to translate over 44 languages into English in real-time.
  • Real-time translation is also being rolled out for Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs, allowing users to translate Chinese (Simplified) and several other languages.

Windows Insiders, we’re excited to announce the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26120.2705 (KB5050636) to the Dev Channel. This update brings two significant changes to the live captions feature, which allows users to view real-time translations of over 44 languages into English.

For AMD and Intel-powered Copilot+ PCs, users will be able to enable live captions with real-time translation, which will allow them to see translations of spoken language in real-time. This feature is available in English as the primary language, but users can switch to other languages to see translations. To ensure this feature works correctly, users should install all the latest driver updates available from Windows Update.

For Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs, real-time translation is being rolled out for Chinese (Simplified) and several other languages. This feature is not yet available for all languages, but users can check the known issues section for a list of supported languages.

In addition to these new features, this update is the same as the update released to the Dev Channel last week. Users who want to test the latest driver versions available directly from our partners can download them directly from the Windows Insider website.

Known Issues:

  • After resetting a PC, the build version may incorrectly show as Build 26100 instead of Build 26120. This will not prevent users from getting future Dev Channel updates, which will resolve this issue.
  • Some users may see a message to "Make sure Recall is saving snapshots," while the Settings page for Recall shows saving snapshots is enabled. Rebooting the device will resolve this issue.
  • The "Click to Do" feature may not highlight any info on screen if there is no content on a connected external monitor in extended mode.

Reminders:

  • Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel receive updates based on Windows 11, version 24H2 via an enablement package (Build 26120.xxxx).
  • Updates delivered to the Dev Channel are in a format that offers a preview of enhancements to servicing technology on Windows 11, version 24H2.
  • Many features in the Dev Channel are rolled out using Control Feature Rollout technology, starting with a subset of Insiders and ramping up over time as we monitor feedback to see how they land before pushing them out to everyone in this channel.
