Windows 11 Insiders, are you ready for the latest update? Today, we’re excited to announce the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.4945 (KB5052084) to the Beta Channel. This build is specifically for Insiders who have not yet upgraded to Windows 11, version 24H2.

This update brings a range of general improvements and fixes to the Beta Channel, designed to enhance your overall Windows experience. Some of the key changes include:

General Improvements:

  • The Desktop Spotlight icon is getting a makeover, with changes to the icon color and backplate, as well as a new position on the bottom right of your desktop.
  • File Explorer performance has been improved, particularly when extracting zipped files and unzipping large numbers of small files.
  • The reliability of File Explorer has been improved, with fixes for various issues that were impacting Insiders.

Fixes:

  • The "see more" menu in the command bar should now open in the correct direction for all resolutions.
  • The touch keyboard on the login screen should no longer unexpectedly launch two keyboards when signing in.
  • The issue preventing the reset password feature from working on the login screen has been fixed.

As always, we’re committed to continuous improvement. We’re aware of a few known issues that have been reported, including:

  • File Explorer may be slow to close for some Insiders when using the X button.
  • The new enterprise-specific device info and accessibility preferences cards may appear on non-managed PCs signed in with Microsoft accounts.

For Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel, we encourage you to turn on the toggle to get the latest updates as they are available, via Settings > Windows Update. This will ensure you receive new features and improvements as they roll out. Remember, features and experiences included in these builds may change, be removed, or replaced, and may not necessarily be released beyond Windows Insiders.
