Microsoft has rolled out a new Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27754 to the Canary Channel, packing in several significant updates and changes to enhance the user experience. The most notable addition is the modernized Windows Hello, which has been redesigned to align with contemporary Windows visual design standards. This update includes new visual iconography, a revamped credential user experience for passkeys, and a more intuitive authentication experience.

Other notable changes include:

• The ability to switch between authentication options, including the new passkey creation experience, with an "Administrator Protection" feature.
• A revamped Taskbar and System Tray, featuring improved animations and a simplified system tray.
• The ability to launch items on the Start menu as an administrator by holding down the Shift and Ctrl keys while clicking on an item.
• Several bug fixes, including issues with the date/time in the system tray, notification bell icon, and search box in File Explorer.

Known issues:

• A problem with Copilot+ PCs joining the Canary Channel, resulting in loss of Windows Hello pin and biometrics.
• Investigations into reports of rollbacks (error code 0xc190010) and accent-colored window borders not displaying when enabled.
• An issue with window launching animations showing even when the setting to show animations is turned off.

As always, please provide feedback on the new features and changes in the Feedback Hub under Security and Privacy > Passwordless experience. Insiders can also check out the Flight Hub for a comprehensive view of which builds are available in each channel. Remember, these builds are not intended for production use and may not match any specific release of Windows. Happy testing!
