Reporting from Windows Insiders:

Hello Windows Insiders, today we are excited to release Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26120.3291 (KB5052080) to the Dev and Beta Channels. This update brings two significant improvements for Windows Insiders on Copilot+ PCs.

Firstly, we are previewing the ability to search for files saved in the cloud directly from the Windows search box on the taskbar with Windows Insiders with Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs. This feature allows you to use your own words to find photos stored and saved in the cloud, such as "European castles" or "summer picnics," in the search box on your taskbar. In addition to searching for photos, exact matches for your keywords within the text of your cloud files will show in the search results.

Secondly, the update improves the Recall (Preview) experience, and as a result, previous snapshots were deleted. After installing this build, Recall will continue to save new snapshots normally going forward only if the option to save snapshots is turned on in Settings.

As a reminder, Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel will receive updates based on Windows 11, version 24H2, while those in the Beta Channel will receive the same updates as an optional upgrade, which will become recommended later this year.

In addition to these major improvements, we are also rolling out various fixes and changes, including the following:

  • Fixes for live captions and real-time translation on Copilot+ PCs, including a crash issue and an issue where switching languages would crash live captions.
  • Fixes for File Explorer reliability, including an issue where opening File Explorer from the command line would result in the address bar being empty and not displaying the current path.
  • Fixes for Network and Internet connectivity issues, including an issue where Remote Desktop would only use TCP.

We are also releasing an update for Snipping Tool, which introduces trim capabilities, allowing you to adjust the start and end times of your screen recordings.

We encourage all Windows Insiders to provide feedback on these new features and fixes, and to report any issues or concerns they may have. As always, thank you to all the Windows Insiders for your continued participation and support.
