Microsoft has introduced a new feature called Game Assist (Preview), which allows PC players to access a browser while playing games without leaving the game. The feature is designed to make it easier for players to access information and services while playing, rather than alt-tabbing to the desktop or using multiple monitors.
According to Microsoft, 88% of PC players use a browser to get help, track their progress, or listen to music or chat with friends while gaming. Game Assist aims to solve this problem by providing a browser experience within the game.

The feature is available starting today on Windows 11 with Microsoft Edge Beta 132, and it can be accessed via the Game Bar, a gaming overlay that allows players to use in-game widgets, including Xbox Social, Spotify, Teams, and more.

Game Assist is currently available for select popular games, including Baldur’s Gate 3, Diablo IV, Fortnite, and more. The company plans to add more games and features to the platform in the future.
To try out Game Assist, players can set up their Windows 11 and Game Bar, then install the Microsoft Edge Beta channel and opt-in to the Game Assist (Preview).
