Kyndryl, a leading managed services provider, has announced an expansion of its alliance with Palo Alto Networks to offer secure access service edge (SASE) services as part of its managed services offerings. This move comes after the two companies first announced their partnership in 2023, with plans to integrate Palo Alto’s security products and services into Kyndryl’s managed security services.
The SASE service, powered by Palo Alto’s Prisma SASE platform, combines software-defined wide-area networking (SD-WAN) with cloud-based security capabilities, including secure access control, advanced threat protection, and zero-trust network access. The platform also features AI capabilities, providing visibility into endpoints, WAN links, cloud resources, and applications to help troubleshoot performance issues.
The latest version of Prisma SASE, version 3.0, includes new features such as the ability to secure unmanaged devices through a new, integrated Prisma Access Browser that supports least privilege access and constant security inspection.
Kyndryl’s SASE service will provide an end-to-end network and security health assessment of customers’ current environments, recommending the best SASE and zero-trust approach. The company will also offer a service to help customers design and deploy Prisma SASE environments, including testing, configuring, and migrating existing users and services.
The partnership between Kyndryl and Palo Alto Networks brings a range of security offerings to customers, including next-generation firewalls, cloud security, and endpoint security. This expansion is part of Kyndryl’s own network modernization transformation, which has shifted from an on-premises network architecture to a cloud-first, SASE-based, zero-trust security approach.
The SASE market is expected to grow significantly, with a projected value of $17 billion by 2029, according to a recent Dell’Oro Group report. Single-vendor SASE solutions, combining SD-WAN and security services, are expected to dominate the market, with unified SASE solutions growing at a 19% revenue compound annual growth rate.
As enterprises seek integrated networking and security solutions to streamline operations and reduce complexity, the trend towards SASE adoption is expected to continue. With its expanded partnership with Palo Alto Networks, Kyndryl is well-positioned to capitalize on this trend and provide its customers with comprehensive SASE solutions.
