In a statement, Henna Virkkunen, European Commissioner for Technology Sovereignty, Security, and Democracy, highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating, "Today, we are one step closer to establishing AI factories. With the help of European supercomputers, we will enable AI start-ups to innovate and expand. We are now ready to lead with the right infrastructure in our ambition for Europe to become an AI continent. We are well on track to realize the AI Factory initiative in the first 100 days of the new Commission. We expect a second wave of offers on February 1."
