Juniper Networks has expanded its access layer options with the introduction of the EX4000 series, a new family of access switches designed to help customers streamline their enterprise operations using automation and AI-based support. The EX4000 series is aimed at customers with enterprise branch, remote office, and campus networks who want to upgrade from Juniper’s current EX2000/3000 series switches.

The EX4000 series offers a range of features, including support for IEEE 802.3bz, Power over Ethernet++ (POE++), and compatibility with Juniper’s AI-Native Networking Platform, cloud-based Mist AI, and Marvis virtual network assistant (VNA) technology. POE++ is a game-changer, allowing devices to remain connected even if a local server is being rebooted, and is essential for devices such as surveillance cameras, IoT devices, and Wi-Fi access points.

At the heart of the EX4000 series is its integrated support for Juniper’s AI-Native Networking Platform and Mist AI. The platform uses data from Juniper’s routers, switches, access points, firewalls, and applications to offer actionable insights and automated workflows for proactive issue detection and resolution. This means IT teams can identify and fix problems before they impact users, resulting in significant cost savings and increased productivity.

Juniper’s Mist AI engine analyzes data from networked access points and devices to detect anomalies and offer actionable resolutions. The company’s AI-Native operations also enable proactive troubleshooting, saving IT teams valuable time and reducing the need for costly and time-consuming manual troubleshooting.

The EX4000 series also supports Junos OS, which features AIOps capabilities to drive automation and simplify configuration and management. This allows enterprises to deploy entire network sites easily, onboard new locations quickly, and upgrade infrastructure with minimal disruption.

In addition to its core features, the EX4000 series includes optional security features such as Juniper’s Mist Access Assurance, which provides "always-on" identification, authentication, and authorization for every device at every point of connection. This ensures that only trusted users and devices can access the network. With the EX4000 series, Juniper is demonstrating its commitment to innovation and its ability to deliver value to its customers through cutting-edge technology.
