Today, we are excited to release Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26120.2702 (KB5048761) to the Dev Channel. This build includes a range of new features, improvements, and fixes.
One of the key highlights of this build is the new advanced camera options page, which allows you to configure your camera settings to suit your needs. For example, you can choose to allow multiple apps to access the camera stream at the same time, making it easier to use features like sign language interpretation during video calls.
In terms of passwordless improvements, we are launching API support for third-party passkey providers, which will make it easier for customers to use passkeys as a secure alternative to traditional passwords. We are also introducing a new plugin authentication model for passkeys, which will allow third-party providers to offer passkey authentication in the future.
Additionally, we are updating the WebAuthn APIs to support the plugin authentication model, making it easier for developers to integrate passkey authentication into their apps.
On the fix front, we are improving the filtering for recommended websites on the Start menu based on feedback from Insiders, and we have resolved several issues related to mouse cursors, keyboard keys, and graphics performance.
Important: To experience these new features and fixes, you will need to have the toggle for receiving the latest updates enabled via Settings > Windows Update*.
