As a Windows Insider, you now have the opportunity to try out the latest features and updates on the Dev and Beta Channels. In this latest release, we’re introducing new features, improvements, and fixes to the Task Manager, File Explorer, and Taskbar, as well as addressing known issues and bugs.
First and foremost, Windows Insiders in the European Economic Area (EEA) can now add, remove, and rearrange lock screen widgets, such as Weather, Watchlist, Sports, and more. This feature is gradually being rolled out to Insiders outside the EEA and is expected to be available globally in the future.
In addition, Task Manager is getting a new CPU utility column, which shows the previous CPU value used on the Processes page. This change will help users better understand CPU utilization. File Explorer is also getting an update, allowing you to share files directly with apps that support sharing.
As for fixes, issues with File Explorer, Taskbar, and Remote Desktop have been addressed, and the Windows Settings app should no longer crash when launched. The Snipping Tool is also getting a new trim feature, allowing you to trim screen recordings to remove unnecessary segments.
As a reminder, the window to switch from the Dev Channel to the Beta Channel is closing soon, so Insiders are encouraged to evaluate which channel they prefer. Additionally, it’s essential to keep your Microsoft 365 apps up to date to ensure compatibility and functionality.
As we continue to work on new features and updates, we appreciate your feedback and look forward to hearing your thoughts on these latest changes. Share your feedback in the Feedback Hub or through other channels, and let’s work together to shape the future of Windows.
