Key Points:

As we continue to push the boundaries of innovation, Microsoft has announced the release of Windows 10 22H2 Build 19045.5194 (KB5046714) to both the Beta Channel and Release Preview Channel for Insiders on Windows 10. This move marks a significant shift in the development process, as the Beta Channel will be shutting down, and Insiders will be migrated to the Release Preview Channel.

The new release includes several improvements and bug fixes, with the recommended section of the Start menu now showcasing Microsoft Store apps from a curated set of developers. This feature, which can be turned on or off, aims to help users discover new and exciting apps. Additionally, Insiders can now toggle on the latest updates to receive new features as soon as they are available, allowing them to be at the forefront of innovation.

The update also addresses various issues, including fixes for Win32 shortcuts not backing up to the cloud, problems with copying files from cloud files providers, motherboard replacement activation, country and operator settings, and an issue with IPP USB printers.

As Windows 10 approaches its end of support, Microsoft is encouraging Insiders to consider moving to Windows 11, the latest operating system from Microsoft. With its enhanced features and improved performance, Windows 11 offers a better user experience and a path forward for those who will no longer be supported by Windows 10.

Important Note: Insiders on Windows 10 can move to the Release Preview Channel on their own via Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Program, and choosing the Release Preview Channel.
