As part of the Windows Insider Program, Microsoft is releasing a new update to Insiders in the Release Preview Channel. This update, designated as Windows 10 22H2 Build 19045.5674 (KB5053643), brings a range of new features and improvements to the Windows 10 operating system.

One of the key features of this update is the inclusion of Noto CJK fonts. These fonts, designed by Google, provide a comprehensive set of characters for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean languages. This will enable accurate and consistent font rendering for users in these regions.

Another significant change is the update to mobile operator profiles, which now include new Country and Operator Settings Asset (COSA) profiles. This update is aimed at improving the performance and reliability of mobile networks.

The update also addresses several long-standing issues, including a bug that caused thumbnails in File Explorer to crash, resulting in white pages appearing instead of the actual thumbnail. This should alleviate the frustration of Insiders who encountered this problem.

In addition, the update fixes issues related to temporary files storage, enabling system processes to store temporary files in a secure directory, “C:\Windows\SystemTemp”. This reduces the risk of unauthorized access to sensitive data.

The update also improves remote desktop troubleshooting, allowing troubleshooters to run more smoothly in remote sessions. Furthermore, the update tackles problems with printers using Independent Hardware Vendor (IHV) drivers, which were outputting incorrect or unwanted text.

Finally, the update introduces improved support for web search providers in the European Economic Area (EEA), including increased discoverability. This feature will make it easier for users to access their preferred search engines and providers.

The Windows Insider Program Team is grateful for the feedback from Insiders and looks forward to continuing to work on improving the Windows 10 operating system.
