Hello Windows Insiders! We’re proud to announce the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26120.3000 (KB5050103) to the Dev Channel. This new build brings several exciting changes, improvements, and fixes to the table.
New Features:
The most notable addition is the new battery iconography, which displays charging states, such as green, yellow, and red, to indicate the battery level. This design aims to help you quickly understand the status of your PC’s battery. The new icons will also appear on the Lock screen and in the Quick Settings flyout, making it easier to keep track of your battery life. Additionally, you can now toggle to show battery percentage next to the battery icon in the system tray.
Improvements:
Narrator scan mode has been further improved with new features, including the ability to jump to list items, jump to the beginning or end of large tables, and lists, making it easier to navigate. The new gamepad keyboard layout for the touch keyboard now supports the use of Xbox controllers to navigate and type, with features like button accelerators and vertically aligned keys for better controller navigation.
Fixes:
This build addresses several issues with File Explorer, including performance degradation, context menu launches, and thumbnail display. Additionally, the update resolves problems with scanning apps not being detected and display orientation issues on 2-in-1 PCs.
Known Issues:
The build is not without its known issues, however. Some users may experience problems with the battery icon showing incorrectly, and others may encounter crashes when using Live Captions. Additionally, the File Explorer may take a while to close, and the search box on the taskbar may not have the same underline animation as the File Explorer search box.
